Yoga & Trauma-Sensitive Movement

Movement that supports both physical wellbeing and emotional awareness.

These yoga sessions are designed to help you reconnect with your body, regulate stress, and move in a way that feels safe, supportive, and accessible to where you are right now.

A uniquely shaped Strelitzia flower, intentionally imperfect to symbolize the beauty of human individuality and the challenges we all face

Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing, breath-linked movement practice that builds strength, flexibility, and mindfulness through coordinated breath and movement.

Through intentional sequencing and gentle guidance, each class invites you to come home to your body, quiet the mind, and connect with your breath.

Trauma-Sensitive Yoga - Trauma affects everyone differently. It may arise from relationships, loss, chronic stress, burnout, or prolonged emotional pressure sometimes from a single event, and sometimes from repeated experiences over time.

The effects can show up in the body as tension, fatigue, anxiety, numbness, or disconnection. These are not signs of weakness they are natural responses to overwhelming experiences.

This space is designed to support gentle reconnection with your body at your own pace. There is no pressure to share your story or relive the past.

The emphasis is on choice, safety, and agency allowing you to move in a way that feels supportive in each moment.

My approach is trauma-aware, encouraging students to honour their bodies and move without expectation or judgement.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

My yoga sessions go beyond physical movement, integrating mindfulness, breath awareness, and nervous system support. Whether you are new to yoga or returning to your practice, my approach is compassionate, adaptive, and designed to meet you where you are.

Benefits of Vinyasa Yoga include:

  • Improved mobility and strength

  • Better stress regulation

  • Greater focus, clarity, and mind-body awareness

Trauma-Sensitive Yoga

If you are reading this, there is a good chance that you have been through something that has left an impact on you. Trauma does not look the same for everyone. Trauma can arise from a wide range of experiences, including relationships, loss, grief, chronic stress, burnout, or prolonged emotional pressure. Sometimes it is a single event, and other times it develops over time through repeated experiences of overwhelm or insecurity.

You might notice the effects in your body, through tension, fatigue, anxiety, numbness, a sense of disconnection or not sleeping well. These responses are not a sign of weakness or failure. They are understandable reactions to what you have lived through. This space acknowledges that your experience matters. There is no expectation to share your story, explain yourself, or relive the past. There is no pressure to push your body or to do anything in a particular way.

The emphasis is on gentleness, choice, and moving at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you engage online or in person, the intention is to create a steady, respectful environment where safety, agency and compassion come first.

My approach to yoga is also informed by trauma-aware principles. I encourage students to move at their own pace, honour their bodies, and make choices that feel supportive and empowering rather than striving for perfection.

You are not alone in this and you are welcome exactly as you are.

One-on-one sessions are arranged at a mutually agreed time , either online or in person depending on preference and location.

Group Trauma-Sensitive Yoga programmes are offered periodically, with details shared on upcoming intake dates.
